About BMTV News
BMTV News (Bright Media Television) is the official digital media and news division of Bright Media Communications Private Limited, a registered private limited media company headquartered in Pala, Kottayam, Kerala.
The media journey behind BMTV began in 2009 through “Teekoy News”, a digital news initiative founded by Prince Babu using Blogger and Orkut platforms during the early phase of online journalism in Kerala. At a time when social media journalism and digital news publishing were still emerging, Teekoy News focused on publishing local news, public-interest stories, and community updates through internet-based platforms.
In 2019, the initiative was restructured and officially rebranded as BMTV (Bright Media Television). Through its official website, YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram, Dailyhunt, and Google News presence, BMTV expanded into a broader Malayalam digital media network delivering news reports, video journalism, interviews, business promotions, social awareness content, live updates, and digital campaigns.
In 2022, Amala Kottuparambil, Jismon Joseph, and Dinu Manoj joined as partners, strengthening the organizational and professional structure of BMTV. Following this expansion, the platform grew under Bright Media Communications Private Limited into multiple areas including media production, digital communication, business promotions, event management, and multimedia services.
In 2024, BMTV further expanded its operations through regional cable television distribution networks and Android mobile application services, making its content accessible to wider audiences across Kerala. The channel was distributed through cable TV networks in regions including Kochi, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Thiruvananthapuram.
From 2025 onwards, BMTV strengthened its focus as a digital-first Malayalam online news channel, concentrating on website publishing, YouTube broadcasting, social media journalism, live streaming, digital promotions, and multimedia content production.
